Athos in Greek mythology is the name of one of the Gigantes that challenged the Greek gods during the Gigantomachia. Athos threw a massive rock against Poseidon, which fell in the Aegean sea and became Mount Athos. According to another version of the story, Poseidon used the mountain to bury the defeated giant.

Mount Ossa (Kissavos)

Mount Ossa, alternative Kissavos, is a mountain in the Larissa regional unit, in ThessalyGreece. It is 1,978 metres (6,490 ft) high and is located between Pelion to the south and Olympus to the north, separated from the latter by the Vale of Tempe.

In Greek mythology, the Aloadaes are said to have attempted to pile Mount Pelion on top of Mount Ossa in their attempt to scale Olympus.[3]

When I used to make ski movies, I was focused completely on hard-core action, due to the nature of the product. Apparently I was missing out. There’s nothing more exciting than watching someone ski at the limit of human performance. However the most special moments on the mountain occur closer to reality. Sometimes they occur right next to the parking lot.
